Women Modeling in Swimsuits – How Can You Get Into a Glamour Career
It isn’t uncommon for women to want to become models. It seems that it would be a very glamorous career, and the pay tends to be very high for those who become popular models like Tyra Banks.
Types of Modeling
Runway models tend to be tall and very skinny, but this is not necessarily the case with the women you see doing very intimate modeling in swimsuits. You have most likely seen the Sports Illustrated swim wear or bikini models and the Victoria’s Secret lingerie catalog pictures, so you have an idea of what this type of model usually looks like.
So what in the world do you need to do to have a chance breaking into a career like this
Well, the very first thing you need to do is get into very good shape. This does not just mean getting skinny, you need to have some muscle tone and sexy curves usually. Women wearing swimsuits in photo shoots tend to look a bit more fit and they are not just skin and bones like some of the high fashion models.

Are good looks really all you need to make it in the modeling world
That’s an interesting question I’ve thought about a lot and one I think you should consider too.
In my career as both a high fashion model and now as a model scout I’ve met many models and modeling hopefuls who were very good looking in person. But because they weren’t particularly photogenic, their physical beauty just didn’t come across in their pictures.
And by the same token, you’d probably be surprised by how many of the industry’s best and brightest print models don’t even get a second glance on the street. Some of them aren’t especially great looking in person, but everything just comes together when they’re in front of the camera.
My point is that either type model (photogenic or not) can enjoy good careers, since one for example may be perfect for runway, while the photogenic or videogenic model may work better for fashion print or television commercials.
